We’re writing to inform you of some upcoming essential drainage work on the M1 junction 16 southbound exit slip.
When will this work take place?
We’ll work overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Thursday 30 July 2026 and Friday 31 July 2026.
To carry out our work safely, we’ll close the M1 junction 16 southbound exit slip.
During the closures, a fully signed diversion will be in place which has been agreed with the local authority.
The diversion will be to proceed to M1 junction 15a and return.
What does this mean for you?
We’ll do everything possible to minimise disruption to local residents and the travelling public while the works are carried out. Although we always aim to complete the works as scheduled, unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may result in changes to the programme.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for those living close to our work. Every effort will be made to carefully manage noise and lighting levels throughout the works to reduce the impact on the surrounding community.
