Just published in next week’s Planning Policy agenda – the Reform administration at West Northants wants to dump 1,000 homes at Long Buckby Station, with plans to build even MORE in future. Oh, and 4 hectares of employment land – essentially more warehousing.

We’ve fought this before. Previous proposals for thousands of homes here were rejected because Northampton could take the growth. Now we’re back on the target list simply because we have a railway station.
Long Buckby is a VILLAGE. Yes, we have a station – but that doesn’t make us suitable for urban-scale development that will destroy our rural character and community.
What do we get? Vague promises of station improvements “by 2030” or even “by 2040” – paid for by the development itself. Meanwhile, Three Bridges Road – already struggling – will take the brunt of construction traffic, 1,000+ new households, and HGVs serving yet more warehouses.

I’m working with the Parish Council to mount a robust response. Watch this space for how YOU can object.
Long Buckby is not a dumping ground for endless housing and warehousing.
